N2  - REPORT OF A CASE 
    A 54-year-old man first noticed a small eruption on his upper abdomen approximately 4 years before his first visit. The eruption slowly grew, and its shape changed from a crescent to an arc and, finally, to a doughnutlike annular pattern. The eruption was not tender or pruritic and did not ulcerate or bleed. Before the patient presented to us in September 1991, he had been treated by his personal physician, who prescribed a topical corticosteroid and antifungal ointments, without any apparent response. The patient did not have any traumatic contact with plants or vegetation, and neither did he have contact with pets or other animals. He had taken medication for diabetes for 2 years.Physical examination revealed a doughnut-shaped scaly erythematous plaque (9×10 cm2) (Figure 1). The width of the doughnut ring was about 1.2 to 2.5 cm. The skin appeared normal inside the ring.
