There is great likelihood of a resurgence in the incidence of scabietic infestation. An increased suspicion may allow the diagnosis to be made rapidly by a simple potassium hydroxide examination. We have found a simplified, expedient, and effective innovation in treating scabies with 1% gamma benzene hexachloride.
