Presented by Dr. Maurice J. Costello.M. T., a girl aged 16 months, has had a pear-shaped pigmented hairy nevus on the anterior surface of the right cheek since birth. She is presented for suggestions as to therapy.DISCUSSIONDr. Fred Wise: I suggest treatment with solid carbon dioxide.Dr. E. William Abramowitz: I treated 1 patient with electrodesiccation, with an unsatisfactory result. Carbon dioxide had been used before, and a keloid developed. I suggest, because of the presence of numerous hairs, excision of the lesion and replacement with a skin graft.Dr. Herman Sharlit: I recall that about ten years ago Dr. Ben Newman treated a nevus with solid carbon dioxide and metastatic melanocarcinoma developed.Dr. Howard Fox: The case mentioned by Dr. Sharlit, which was presented before this Society by Dr. Costello, is the only one in which I have ever seen
