RT Journal A1 Goujon E, Beer F, Gay S, Sandre D, Gouyon J, Vabres P T1 Anetoderma of prematurity: An iatrogenic consequence of neonatal intensive care JF Archives of Dermatology JO Archives of Dermatology YR 2010 FD May 1 VO 146 IS 5 SP 565 OP 567 DO 10.1001/archdermatol.2010.65 UL http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archdermatol.2010.65 AB Anetoderma of prematurity was described by Prizant et al1 in very-low-birth-weight infants in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). This recent description probably reflects improvement in care of premature neonates who were previously unable to survive. The mechanism for the development of anetoderma is unknown, but the role of monitoring leads has been suspected. To further delineate this clinical condition, we have studied 11 additional cases.
