Allergic Reactions.—
This year, a compilation is being made of case reports of allergic reactions to bites of certain insects, ie, mosquitos, fleas, gnats, kissing bugs, bedbugs, chiggers, black flies, horseflies, sandflies, and deerflies. Reactions to stings of the imported and southern fire ants will be included.Physicians who can supply case reports of patients who have had reactions to such insect bites should contact Claude A. Frazier, MD, 4-C Doctor's Park, Asheville, NC 28801. The reports should include the type of reaction and the complications, if any; the age, sex, and race of the patient; the site of the bites; the season of the year; the immediate symptoms; the skin test results; desensitization results, if any; and any associated allergies.
