We are grateful for the opportunity to respond to this courteous and thoughtful review. As was noted in the review, the opportunity offered to us to undertake this work was an exciting challenge, one that we took up with trepidation and also with a strong sense of responsibility, not only to the founding authors, but also to present and future students. Considering that the scope of knowledge about dermatopathology almost precludes the continuing single authorship of a comprehensive text, we enlisted a cadre of contributors. Without their efforts, we could not have hoped to accomplish our task within any reasonable time frame. We are most grateful, and thank them again here, for their excellent contributions.
